Twins and Jennie's wrap

Here is a 5 yard wrap complete with twins and mother.

This was a extended twill stripe with plaid on the ends.

Easy to weave taking about 20 hours after warping the loom.

Finished the rebozo plaid for Alisen last weekend. Just in time for the BB Wardlaw.

It is 100% cotton, 105" long hemmed length and 30" wide. This is after 2 washings in warm water. Washing really softened the cotton. Weaving was fast and fun with all the plaid colors.

As always, our guild meetings are an inspiration! So many ideas in one room! Laura brought lots of fiber from a past member. Many just finished weavings were passed around for fondling. Best of all was the finishes program by Linda Long... That lady has experimented in everything and has samples to show it all. Hard to beleive that another season is about ended. Summertime brings lots of time for new projects.
Thanks to all for a great year! Could never have done it without all the support from dedicated weavers of the guild.
Good luck Marilyn in Minnesota. You will have an outstanding show! Wish I could be there.

A few photos of weavings. The wonderful way that warp and weft combine. Some lovely colors too. Cotton fleece weaves nicely. I did find that the sett for twill should be 8 or 10 dents per inch rather than the 12 dpi that I used in the pink throw. Experience is a valued teacher.
The friendship coverlet was a worthwhile project. It taught me how to center a draft for a predetermined warp size. Each weft wove up a little differently. I tried all the tricks. I could not stand to sit through one whole block. It was easier to schedule a few breaks in between than to take many days off. Once started it was all too soon finished. There were 12 yards of warp total. Can't believe that I actually got it all on the beam!
